台湾のクスノキCinnamomum camphoraとソウシジュAcacia confusaから得られた標本に基づいて記載された。日本では本州から記録されており、５～１０月頃にクスノキの葉に発生する。マレーシアのPleocnemia irregularis [オシダ科 Dryopteridaceae] から得られた１メスを基に記載されたH. pectinarius (Kudo)は本種のシノニムとされている。

This species was described based on the specimens collected from Cinnamomum camphora and Acacia confusa in Taiwan. It has been collected from the leaves of C. camphora in Honshu, Japan, in May to October. H. pectinarius (Kudo), which was described based on a single female collected form Pleocnemia irregularis [Dryopteridaceae] in Malaysia, is a synonym of this species.
